Food App Project

In this application I worked on a android app that would display all the food menu for California State University of Long Beach's dining hall. This would allow users to conveniently open up and see what will be on today's, tomorrow's, or even next month's menu via their mobile devices.

It was written using java with and google map API to allow users to select and show where the dining hall is located at.

This program is currently being compile with Android Studio and in android studio I am allowed to choose the device that the program will be using. Since I am trying to demo my project's capability on an android device I am running a phone emulator to show you what it would look like on the phone. The current phone model I am using is the Nexus 5X API 26.

When the user first turns on their phone they would see this, just an average every day selection menu for selecting their app:

Once the device has been turned on the user would then search through their apps, the icon we want to click on is the android with a green grind background and string stating "Long Beach...":

Once the app has been opened the user will be brought to our main menu where they will be able to select which dining hall they wish to display or map:

The app conveniently shows the users the time the date they are currently at and whether the dining halls are serving breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Once that's shown if the user were to click on any of the choices they would be brought to the menu (Note that the data is old data and hasn't been updated since my sophomore year so the information isn't accurate):

So as we can see the app displays what is being served at Beachside for breakfast on March 16, 2019 after I selected that menu.

If the user were to click on "campus" with he map icon they will be brought to our map view of the world and there are icons they can click on to access the lunch menu via map:

The user can select Beachside from this view or zoom into the California State University of Long Beach campus by selecting the icon:

In the campus view, the user can click on any of the dining hall's icon to see what is on their menu. In this example I will be clicking on Hillside:

As we can see we're now displaying what will be on the menu at Hillside for Breakfast on March 16, 2019 just by clicking on the icon from the map.

The user will also be able to change the date to check what was on the menu for yesterday, tomorrow, or any date they want by clicking on the string "calendar" with the calendar icon or the date on the top right hand corner:

I will be selecting March 15, 2019 for this example:

As we can see we now know what will be on the menu for breakfast at the Hillside dining hall on March 15, 2019.

The user will also be able to select breakfast, lunch, or dinner to display what will be on the dining menu for that particular time line:

In the example I will be clicking on Lunch:

As we can see the the menu now displays what was for lunch at Hillside on March 15,2019.

The last feature is the button with the "Menu" string and has a knife/spoon icon. That icon will bring the users back to the main menu. As such, I will not be posting a picture as we already know what the main menu looks like from the third image posted above.
